Chaise was born on November 19, 2009 with a rare liver disease called biliary atresia, a disease of the bile ducts that prevents the flow of bile from the liver. At 8.5 weeks old, he underwent his first major surgery. The surgery was not successful, and he was then added to the organ transplant list. He received his “Gift of Life” on Father’s Day, June 20, 2010, at Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. He was in intensive care for 28 days due to further complications and additional surgical procedures, but our little Chaise fought. He is a fighter, a survivor and a champion. We are grateful for his second chance at life and are hopeful for a bright future. We love our little boy so much and are so grateful to have him in our lives.

Sincerely,
Marina & Andrew (Chaise’s Mom & Dad)
