Biliary Atresia (or BA) is a disease which affects only infants and prevents the flow of bile from the liver, causing a toxic back-up; it is a rare disease, affecting about 1 out of every 12,000 infants in the United States. For Andrea and Roberto Villasenor, parents of three children, BA does not feel like a rare disease—both of their daughters were born with this disease. Read about Melissa and Isabella’s journey with Biliary Atresia here. Both of the girls and their family are true champions. Join us on May 20th at Liver Life Walk Rhode Island to meet this amazing family and walk with us to end liver disease!
