Why did Liver Life Walk go virtual?

The American Liver Foundation’s greatest concern is the health and well-being of liver patients and those who care for them. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with the CDC and government guidelines, we made the decision to suspend all ALF in-person gatherings in 2020. To protect the health and safety of our community, we have also redefined our Liver Life Walks. Instead of hosting large gatherings throughout the year, we will bring together the liver community of supporters across the country via a virtual gathering on one date – Saturday, October 24

What activities are included during the Virtual Liver Life Walk?

This multi-week experience includes guided self-care practices, family friendly wellness activities, engaging fundraising challenges, and inspiring video messaging. There will also be weekly “live” events to coincide with each week’s theme, including yoga, family fun night, cooking class, and liver jeopardy.

Do I have to participate in the weekly themed activities?

No. Participation in the weekly themed events is voluntary.

When does the Virtual Liver Life Walk experience begin?

The Virtual Liver Life Walk will begin on Monday, September 21 and culminate in a live broadcast event on Saturday, October 24

Will we still receive a Liver Life Walk t-shirt?

Yes! Participants who raise $100 or more will have their Liver Life Walk t-shirt mailed to their home after the event.
Early Bird Deadline: Participants who raise $100 by Friday, September 25, 2020 will receive their shirt in advance so they can wear it walk day!

Can I still participate in the virtual liver life walk if I don’t have social media?

Yes! Walkers will have access to their own personal Virtual Liver Life Walk Experience page by logging into the walk website. There you will find all the walk content, updated weekly to coincide with each week’s theme. Information on that week’s theme and activities will also be sent to registered walkers via email.

Is there a registration fee?

There is no registration fee to participate in the Virtual Liver Life Walk, but we strongly encourage everyone to raise a minimum of $100.

My family wants join the Virtual Liver Life Walk. Should they register too?

Yes, all walkers must register to participate in the Virtual Liver Life Walk. Walkers can join a team, or register individually. If you are walking with more than 2 people, we recommend you create a team and recruit your family and friends to join you!

Is there a fundraising requirement?

No, but it is strongly encouraged that everyone raise a minimum of $100. All walkers who individually raise $100 will earn an official Liver Life Walk T-shirt. Walkers who raise 2,500+ points qualify for additional prizes.  Click here for more information.

Who do I make checks payable to?

Please make all checks payable to American Liver Foundation,

P.O. Box 299, West Orange, NJ 07052. Also remember to include your name and team name in the memo section of each check as this will ensure donations are credited to the correct participant.
